For the fourth year running, we are proud to continue our player sponsorship of the Guernsey Raiders 2nd team, the St Jacques Vikings.
After securing the Counties Three Hampshire title last season, and promotion to Counties Two, the St Jacques Vikings faced a greater level of competition this season. Under the guidance from Head Coach Ray Smart, the team have risen to the challenge, and have qualified to the Counties One division, winning 16 of their 18 matches so far, this is a great achievement for the team.
Gearoid Lee remains a stand-out player for the club and continues to be a key offensive force for the side and regularly performed well in key games.
In a recent post-match interview, where the Vikings scored an impressive 108-15 victory over Chichester II’s. Gearoid commented, “It’s been a good season for us, we’ve had some big scores. We’ve started to find our level, where scores are starting to be a bit closer against some key teams. It’s really good for us to get up another level then hopefully we will have closer matches.”
Rihoy & Son’s support of Gearoid helps the club to be able to afford travel costs to compete in English competitions, without this sponsorship travel would not be possible.
The Vikings are now entering the final stretch of the season and are determined to continue their positive performances and results to help prepare them for the step up to play in Counties One.
