The youngsters at North have had a busy summer and will be on their toes for the start of the new Minis season in August.

The club has a thriving youth football set-up, with around 180 children turning out each week to play. Rihoy & Son has long provided sponsorship for the club that helps to provide kit and training equipment.

In July the Year 3 team travelled to Jersey and played in the Tournoi competition at Grouville. They were undefeated all weekend and returned to Guernsey tired and happily wearing their medals.

Later that month North’s Year 5 team took part in the 2014 BWCI Mini Soccer Festival, which saw 23 teams from Jersey, Guernsey and England compete over a weekend. The wet conditions didn’t put the players off and the two North teams, named Northerners and Rihoy North, competed well. Rihoy North were beaten in the semi-final by the BWCI Shield winners, Everton.

Also this summer the North Year 5 Minis team travelled to the UK to compete in the Camberley Town and Petersfield youth football tournament. Coach Joseph Adams had every reason to be proud of his team, who reached the finals and beat the hosts to win the Petersfield Post Cup.

North Minis takes young footballers from Reception to Year 5 and the 2014/15 season starts on 30 August.
