Our first family summer party for staff took place on Saturday 23 July. Under sunny skies, we had over 180 adults and 50 children enjoying a day of fun, games, good food, music and festivities at the KGV Playing Fields.

There was a little something for everyone - bouncy castles for the younger ones, Giant Jenga and Dominos games, organised football, a Bucking Rodeo, BattleTec target shooting with TTX - and plenty of ice creams and refreshments.

The team at the KGV also provided a hearty 'Build a Burger' BBQ, alongside plenty of delicious alternatives.

Our senior management entered into the spirit by 'volunteering' themselves into the stocks and getting pelted by wet sponges!

We also managed to raise over £400 for Guernsey MIND (from our staff's generosity in buying raffle tickets, as well as the generosity of our various supporters who provided some great prizes).

Gavin Rihoy summed up the occasion in his 'appreciation speech' – with a genuine thank you and that this day was a small gesture of recognition for the efforts of the team and their families - Team Rihoy – over recent years.

The day concluded with live music by the brilliant Underdog until closing time - it was a perfect end, to the perfect day.
